Joyce Update May 6, 2010

Dear friends and family,
Today I helped plant yucca for the first time.  It was very
interesting but hard work for me.  I am not used to using a machete.
It was fun but I had to take a nap this afternoon.
God has been teaching me in a very real way that He will provide for
all of my needs.  I need to trust Him.  Anytime I have any kind of
need He is ready and willing to provide the answer.  These answers to
my needs lately have been so frequent and abundant, that it is putting
a real fear of God in my heart.  I am thankful, because I have seen
the need on my life for more of a fear of God for many years now.
The damage from the flood here is incredible.  We had visited one
village , Ongota,  in Dec. to pass out tracts and bracelets.  They say
it was the hardest hit village from the flood.  We went last Sunday,
and it was amazing.  It is so sad for so many people.  Some houses
were washed away.  Also a huge steel and cement bridge was washed
away.  I can't believe that the force of the water was strong enough
to wash out a bridge that size.
Last Sunday, we visited another village where the people lost their
gardens.  We went for a long rode down a bumpy dirt road to get there.
Our church ahd collected food to bring, and we were able to deliver
it.  I prayed all week that I would be able to go, so I was real glad
that God answered my prayer!!!
