Joyce Update December 11, 2009

Dear family and friends,
We were able to go to a small village last Saturday to pass out
tracts.  This is my favorite thing to do in Ecuador.  The children
came out slowly, not like the swarms that happened in other villages.
We ended up giving over 60 tracts and bracelets to children.  We were
able to talk to and pray with a few of the older girls. We pray that
seeds were planted that day.  I also started teaching another English
class this past month.  It is for about 10 children, mostly boys and
ages 9 to 13.  It is going well.  I like teaching a lot, and they are
eager to learn.  I have a 5 year old in my class and he is so cute.
He is learning as well.
Please pray for my health.  Over 10 years ago a dentist told me that
my wisdom teeth need to come out or I could experience big problems in
the future.  Well, I didn't have them out and I am experiencing big
problems.  I went to a dentist in Puyo last week.  She said they are
very bad and it is complicated.  They are impacted, decayed and
infected.  Also they have caused the joint in my jaw to be pushed out
of place.  I have had bad headaches lately.  Also, I had infections a
few years ago.  I battled them for a long time and now I know it was
all coming from this.  I am hoping to have the first one or 2 out the
end of next week.  I have peace about it all for His grace is
sufficient.
The church in my town, Napo, got a new pastor.  He is trying to
organize the church.  He seems to love the Lord and is zealous.  We
have been trying to encourage him, and help where we can.  There is
also another church where Paul has been helping in the music ministry.
It looks like we will be spending Christmas day in Shandia.  The
church and school have a program every Christmas day for the children.
 Different than what we are used to, but I am excited about going.  We
also started singing Bible songs with the older school children in
that village once a week.
I'm sorry this is so short. I do not feel well, but I am encouraged in
the Lord.   Thank you to all for your prayers.  They mean a lot to us.
