Mark Update December 12, 2008

Just a quick note to say hello and to forward, what is becoming to me, some very precious information. I hope you will look into the information about this orphanage in Ecuador. Please pray that God will use us to be a blessing to this orphanage.
For those of you who have not heard this yet, I was about two days away from leaving Ecuador and returning to the US when I first heard of Patti Sue and the orphanage. One of our goals this past trip was to secure longer term visas. After almost 3 weeks of my heavenly Father bringing me to one closed door after another, I was sitting at my missionary brother Rick's table discussing all the forms that he had to fill out when his wife, Sharon, said "what about Patti Sue?"
One of the problems we were experiencing, being missionaries who are going by faith as 'tent makers', is that we do not have a mission board or institution standing with us. The Ecuadorian government requires an invitation and a guarantee from a recognized institution before they will consider granting a missionary visa. It seemed all the other types of visas were closed to us or did not suit us at this time.
Sharon then called Patti Sue and told her of our situation. She graciosly, and I beleive by God's sovereign hand, said she would extend, to us, all the things we need from that end to receive a volunteer/missionary visa. PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS PROVISION!
Although my primary call to Ecuador is to encourage and help the beleivers in Tonampade to bring the Word that they have received to the other villages who have not heard yet, Joyce and I have always enjoyed working with children in our ministering. Joyce trained all our sons to bake bread and I have heard there is a great need for bread at the orphanage. So we see our Father's hand and plan in all of this.
Once again, thank you for your prayers, and please add this sister and the orphanage to your heart. May God richly bless you as we labour together with Christ. Your brother, Mark.
  • Dear Friends,
I can't believe another year has come and gone and we are that much closer to standing face to face with our Lord and Savior.
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. This team would not be complete without each one of you. God has shown me that 2009 is going to be an amazing year. I am looking forward to each and every miracles He is about to show us and to drawing closer to Him in the trials and the blessings.

    In His embrace
    Patti Sue
